A Klavs approved 3d printable version of his Drakhri

I swear I tried that. Maybe the tools weren’t as robust back then. Maybe Klavs would give permission for an STL pack?

A Klavs approved 3d printable version of his Drakhri

I vaguely remember trying to do some file conversions off old model releases years ago and failing spectacularly. What are you using for a starting point on these models? There are some near WC ships on Thingiverse but few of this quality.

Will there be a link to the 3D model for printing?

Arrow Kit for Sale! (July 20, 2017)

For novice builders, it should be noted this is cast in resin and is not a traditional commercial plastic model. Working with resin models isn't overly challenging, but it does require an additional set of skills and tools over the plastic kits most folks are used to.

Old login to robertsspaceindustries? How to donate?

I'll need to link my ticket later, too. These are minor issues- we're getting a new game!!!

WC vs History ReRelease: Tools of the Trade (June 6, 2012)

I read three books on Pearl Harbor quickly back to back. Maybe I'm getting Toll's work confused. I enjoyed the heck out of Six Frigates. I guess I have an inherent distrust of Prange's work at this point given how he acted as a mouthpiece for Fuchida in Miracle at Midway.

WC vs History ReRelease: Tools of the Trade (June 6, 2012)

Honestly, I think At Dawn We Slept has been superseded by some more modern works. In particular, Toll's Pacific Crucible does a great job of the run up and politics, though it's not focused solely on the Pearl Harbor attack. When watching Nova as a popcorn work without any real analysis, it...

WC vs History ReRelease: Tools of the Trade (June 6, 2012)

You'll find me a bit more in agreement with it being the naval round into or near the magazine that fatally wounded Arizona. At Dawn We Slept is a great read, but definitely starting to show its age. Prange's friendship with Fuchida also has some unfortunate consequences at times. Alan D...

WC vs History ReRelease: Tools of the Trade (June 6, 2012)

I hope you don't label me as "that guy." I'm a genuine armchair historian of the Pacific War looking for good discussion! I eagerly await these updates and appreciate your educational pieces. The debate about Arizona's fatal strike continues to intrigue me. I'm curious as to what makes you...

WC vs History Rerelease: Source Code (June 4, 2012)

Fuchida's book has done more to misinform the general public on Midway than it has to improve any understanding. Unfortunately, as first-person witness to the events, he was taken at his word for many years. He was dispelled in Japan long ago, but the lack of Japanese-language research Stateside...

WC vs History Rerelease: Source Code (June 4, 2012)

Based on some of the more recent sources, I'd argue that the ruse to "discover" AF might be a bit overstated here. The group at Hypo was convinced AF was Midway- the broadcast ruse was designed to convince the higher-ups. Admiral King, in particular, was hearing from the local cryptos in DC that...

    Engineering CAD

Folks, Can any of the WC models be exported to something an engineering program (SolidWorks, Pro/E, Inventor, etc) would recognize? I'd love to get my hands on something I could play with myself in my spare time without starting from scratch. I can use step (.step), vector (.x_t), parasolid...

WC vs. History: Building a Better Mousetrap (June 7, 2011)

CVE-57, Coral Sea, was renamed Anzio for similar reasons. I'm an armchair historian myself with very similar interests. Midway is one of my main focus points along with the Silent Service and Leyte Gulf. I'll admit I was a bit surprised (and very impressed) to finally see something other than...

WC vs. History: Building a Better Mousetrap (June 7, 2011)

Another very nice history. Great job, Dundradal! One might note that CVB-41 is the second Midway named after the battle. CVE-63 lost her name to the big hull on 10 October, 1944 and was sunk as the USS St. Lo two weeks later.

    physical models to buy?

I received a few of the cap ships yesterday. I gotta say, I'm impressed. I'm really excited for the possibilities here. Thank you to the modelers that make these available- I know I'll be making several purchases!

    Problems? Post them here...

I thought it was just me... I can't see the end of the game. I've completed the last mission 4 times now and dumped each time as soon as I dump out of autopilot on my return to the carrier. Each time it was the only mission I'd played. XP SP3 x32, T9400 @ 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, nVidia Quadro FX...
