That sounds kinda farfetched. To me it looks like something out of Fallout not Wing Commander. It's good to see the Midway but I would like to have seen less liberties taken or at least an explaination of why they were taken.

I'm hoping that this in the end run won't damage Wing Commander. I'm excited that Wing Commander has returned but I'm worried about what a mediocre game could do to a series that hasn't had a new release in ten years and what newer fans will take from the Wing Commander series.

How so? Feline aliens in sci-fi are quite common due to their perceived mysterious behavior by humans, their fast reactions, enhanced senses and in most cases a fierce nature. All this added up makes for a great choice for an alien to be pitted against humanity.
