    how will afterburners work?

    nope. Jump drives actually have their own seperate 'cylinders' like fuel rods that are plugged into them. There are 4 levels of jump engine, the first level allows for 2 jumps, level 2 4, level 3 6, and level 4 8 jumps. Each jump uses a cylinder, and each cylinder has to be replaced.

    Each ship has its own amount of fuel it carries in its tank, the afterburners pull fuel from this. Even with scoops on, you're going to eventually run out of fuel because you're using more fuel than the scoops are taking in. Turn the scoops off and you really run out of gas in a hurry, and won't...

    Eh, I wouldn't want to stray to far from established designs, If we really needed more ships to populate the universe, it'd be best to just design and model them, or pull from the game itself. Or at least that's my opinion.

    that's two commodity modules on there, each module has 2 sets, one on each side of the central arm. It looks like there are 3 because the two sets are close together and kind of merging.

    The carriers are all going to be on the frontlines. At most you'll see a Confed destroyer, the bulk of their forces will be corvettes. The Landreich has an old Destroyer (Valiant) and two corvettes. Falcon and Granicus. No carriers. BradMick
