Fighters are very powerfull in Wc3/Wc4 game engine , even in Wc1 they give quite a punch but not in the "WC universe" .You will not see in a novel an arrow attacking supercarriers :P Also consider the various Wc Game engines of the time and its limitations. :)

Wing Commander Academy ,won`t just play on WindowsXP.You need something like DOSBOX to play it.Go to the Files Section and grab it. in WCA (game) you are in an Academy simulator that you play your own missions. You create them.No plot and it has nothing to do with the Academy episodes.
