A discussion on the true nature of the Nephilim

Is KS still going for $500 on eBay? ;) [Edited by Rampage3051 on 07-06-2001 at 08:52]

Yeah, I know; Keen rocks! :) It was *the* first computer game I played; don't worry, Wing Commander [1] was the second... ;)

    Rapiers in the Movie

Ah, once again LOAF explains all. :) I don't own the WC Confederation Handbook; does it give specs for any other fighters besides the Rapier and Broadsword (Scimitar, Hornet...?)?

    Rapiers in the Movie

Yeah, sorry about the double-post, I forgot to hit "refresh" on by browser. In reference to the Torps on the outside, I think the WC ships were built more for looks than for function (except for the Capships...BO-ring)

2 torps? What about when Paladin launched 4 (IIRC) to take out the Destroyer & Snakier?

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry for getting off-track.

    Rapiers in the Movie

I've heard a rumor that the pilot in the Broadsword at the end of the movie (the one that tractors Blair back to the Concordia after the Snakier was destroyed) was Chris Roberts himself; does anybody else know anything about this?

mpanty, what exactly is a Keen Commander? I recognize the computer game reference, but I didn't see it in the list of ranks; are you a Moderator or somethin'?

Privateer hero's voice sounds like John Travolta!

If you can get ahold of the Priv manual, Jaguar, the voice credits are probably in it. No offense to EA or Origin, but I doubt that they would've been able to hire Travolta at that point; I mean, they weren't really known for movie-making 'till WC3, when they hired Hamill, McDowell, etc..

Still, you've gotta pay money to hollow out the asteroid... Then again, you get raw materials from the asteroid, so it's a win-win situation. Hey, Ladiesman, what's a swabbie?

    Vesuvius refit

So why does the supposedly smaller CVE (even in WC) carry more fighters than a Light Carrier? Does the CVL carry more hvy. fighters or bombers, or mount more weaponry?
  12. R

    TCS Midway or TCS Vesuvius?

In fact, Quarto's wrong too; it wasn't a fighter, it was a Crossbow bomber! ;)

What about the Broadswords, though? On their rear (main) wings, I saw what looked like cannons on the bottom of the outer vertical stabilizers. Speaking of Broadswords, what function would they have served back then (for example, WCATV), before Phase Shields? Missile Boat, perhaps?

    The COST of freedom :)

Whoa, I'm afraid that even LOAF has an opinion on this subject! Still, there's that Rule #2...

Thanks. Like I said, I'm new at this. :)

    Confed/Kilrathi Ordnance

I read somewhere that Chris Roberts didn't like the Kilrathis' appearance in WC2 & 3; after all, the only way you see them in WC1 (the game in which Roberts probably had the most influence) is in those big metal suits, so you never knew if they were furry underneath or not.

argh, I'm still getting the hang of this coding schtuff. That last part wasn't supposed to be italicized.

Oh, KrisV. Sorry, I musta had a brain fart.

    Rapiers in the Movie

I'm not trying to defend the anti-WC critics and viewers of the movie, but they probably don't know what the heck a 'Neutron Gun' is, so you've gotta give 'em some slack...(well, if they hate WC, I guess ya don't!)

    Vesuvius refit

I thought that CVEs were just converted transports; I've looked through my WW2 ship manuals, and while most large carriers have around 60 planes (about half the number most WC large carriers have), Escort Carriers only have about 8 planes max.
