    Nvidia, ATI, and PhysX

I'm working on pulling together the money for a new game rig and got to wondering about video cards. Right now I've got an ASUS Nvidia 6600 card and I thought about sticking with Nvidia cards for my future machine. One driving reason is that Nvidia cards have the PhysX extensions built into...

    Starcraft 2 Released (July 27, 2010)

Holy Crap it works! I figured I'd give it a try, even though my processor is below minimum specs and everything else is minimum. But it runs and it runs smooth at 1900x600. Sure the other quality settings are all set to low, but it's damn good looking for low. I've only run into one stutter...

    Model Battleship detailing.

Do you by chance get Fine Scale Modeler magazine? That magazine is a gold mine for techniques and after market parts. The forums at http://www.FineScale.com are a great place for picking up tips too, and I don't think you have to have subscription to use the forums. Off the top of my head...

    'Lost' NES Games

The first one sounds a lot like Strider, particularly considering the downward sword strike. The second one sounds a lot like Renegade or possibly Double Dragon. But, then again, it could be any one of a dozen beat em ups. The subway section makes me think of Renegade though. I've only...

    Starcraft 2 Released (July 27, 2010)

I got the collector's edition on Amazon, preorder, and it arrived on the day of release. Now I just need a faster computer to run it. Maybe I missed a step somewhere.:D If you've still got the option I suggest going with the collector's edition. It's got a nice hardcover book of concept art...

This thread is about guns, do not start politiking!

Tannerite and full oxygen bottles are great therapy too. :D But you do need a high powered rifle for those.

I bought a Beretta U22 Neos pistol for about $200, used. It's the best plinking gun I've ever shot. It's definitely worth the money because reliable and easy to strip and clean. Although, if you buy one brand new be aware that it will probably have a tendency to jam alot. Mine did, but after the...

$75 for a box of ammo, while steep, doesn't seem too bad for custom work. I looked into getting .416 Rigby ammo and it ran around $120 for a box of 20. Anyway, GamesFuhrer, I've heard the Garand can be finicky even when properly maintained. If I had enough for one I would probably go after a...

!!!Spoilers!!! Just caught Inception and I'm not left with a bunch of questions

First off the show was freakin brilliant but not nearly as confusing as most people were saying it was going to be. The only question I'm left with, and I put to you who have seen the film is: Or perhaps this is all some psychological sign of my dreary outlook on life.

My brother has a 91/30 and my dad has got an M44. They're not to bad, but I prefer my SMLE because the bolts on the Mosins are so damn tight in their action I don't like how hard it is to cock them. The bolt on my SMLE No.4 Mk.1 flips up and slides back smooth as silk. Is the Dragoon's bolt as...

    California Video Game Ban

This doesn't sound quite like an outright ban, ala Australia\Germany\etc. It sounds like they are trying to push out a more restrictive or punishing law concerning rental or selling directly to minors. A lot of states have laws against selling M rated games to minors. For the most part they...

    WC4 Hovertank

I'd throw a modelled muzzle on the end of each gun, if I remember right there was only one barrel\muzzle to each gun. I don't think a texture on the flat face of the gun barrels would look quite right to show the end of the barrels. Otherwise, it looks great. Keep it up.

Find Your Favorite Furry Foe (April 3, 2010)

I voted for Kirha because he is an ultimately tragic character and really illustrates the inherent wartime weakness of the Kilrathi. As for visual presentations, though, I would have to vote for Thrakhath and the Emperor. They were well acted and looked very good for puppets. I also like the...

    Favorite car.

I have three mainly because I've only really had four cars I could, kinda, call my own. My number 1s would probably have to be the 1985 Dodge Charger Shelby that was handed down by my mom and the first car I actually purchased on my own, a 90s Jeep Wrangler soft top. I put both at the top of...

    Stargate Resistance (My unqualified review)

I just picked this up last night, 2/10/10, on Direct 2 Drive for $19.99 and I've kind of enjoyed it, despite the fact that my computer is barely able to run it and I suck in online battles. Like I said, I'm unqualified.:D For those unfamiliar; Stargate Resistance was made, by Firesky, with...

WCP ejection pod in real life!

The F-111 uses a similar system, but luckily the pilot and WSO sit side by side. So if they get stranded for days on end, and they have the foresight, at least they can play cards. :D

    CF-105 Scimitar

I always thought the Scimitar was the ugliest fighter in the main series, but this makes it downright beautiful. Amazing work. As a suggestion for squadrons. How about the the Crusaders, with maybe a picture of the enforcer on the hull, as a bit of a homage to another great Origin game.

    Historic Firearms

It's mainly the collectible factor that would prompt me to go that route. I mean I could spend a few thousand dollars and get a fully automatic AK-47 or M-16 but the BAR has a lot of history behind it. Besides, my life's about as boring as you can get, so privacy isn't much of an issue, I don't...

    Historic Firearms

The reason I say "If I had the money" is because in Utah you can legally purchase a fully automatic BAR. It takes extra paperwork, and you have to get clearance from your local police chief, but it's possible. The problem is that any full auto firearm has to have been produce prior to 1986...

    Historic Firearms

I've got a 1942 vintage SMLE No. 4 Mk. 1, my dad has a Mosin Nagant M44, and my brother has the M9130. The bolt on the Mosins is a little too stiff for my tastes, but it's nice having both because you can interchange the bolts if one malfunctions, and the M44 has this ungodly muzzle flash even...
