Ranger and Concordia (oh, and fighter complements)

how does this translate into the cruise-in wormholes of WC3 and on?

    Ralatha, When The Walls Fell.

That one is actually a bit easier, mostly because you don't have the illusion that you can survive a hit so it's all dodge. Cruise around at max AMG range dodging shots til you have a lock, then just blast straight in. Bonus survivability points if you can work timing and distance so you don't...

You know, I bet there are no females on this forum.

Second that about FPS girls - although most of the ones I've played against tend to be less skilled with the ranged weapons but brutally effective with last-ditch melee attacks.

    WC3 Dreadnaught

How many of the new people know the trick with sitting inside the hangars, and of those how many had the patience to blast away at the inside of the Dreadnaught for the time required to kill it? Also, I'm not sure if ive tried this yet but is it possible to kill the Dreadnaught with a Longbow...

    WC3 Hobbes turret

Jazz's evil twin? Thought controlled turret pioneered by late 20th century Russian technology? Hat switch on joystick?

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

If you're trying to exaggerate the weapons fire you might try slowing the bolts down a hair... one of the things I noted about the WC3/4 engine is that the gunfire always seemed to be moving very slowly in relation to it's size, but that eventually gave the impression of a "stream" of fire...

Special Operations 1 - The final mission

Get your lock from waaay back and use your afterburners to dodge antimatter shots. If you start moving as soon as they shoot and you're still a good ways out, you can evade without any worries and still keep lock. Once you've got lock, dodge an AM volley and then afterburn straight in, release...

    Most desired Non-Playable fighter?

A lot of the ships I'm seeing named here are in progressing fan projects already. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the Pioneer project - early ships that I've always envisioned as having shields that are barely worth the name and primitive inertial compensation. Reading Action...

    Let's make awful fan-fic superfighters

Start with the rule "four guns for every occasion" and go from there? I used to do some sketching around that produced some interesting results, but no scanner. Maybe I'll waste the next week on 3d-modeling some of them.

    Let's make awful fan-fic superfighters

Yea, a lot of these are loadouts you look at and then say "hey, I've seen that before ingame..." (the bomber-loadout Sabre from WC2 for Peidu's example). You mods have trained them into reasonability far too well.

Damnit, now I need to upgrade my HP calc to a color screen.

    WC Fleet Engagements

Cost, yes. Also you have the minor detail that a fighter wing takes a huge amount of maintenance, and you can make a non-carrier compact and durable without impacting any fighter wing. The crew of a capship is also able to patch their ship up much more effectively than a fighter's pilot...

    More WC goodies for sale

Having recently found a place at a great used computer store I have been running across the odd bit of WC here or there. If someone has something they're looking for to complete their collection and/or try out, please PM me and let me know so I can keep an eye out for it. things I've found...

    Time for a New Joystick

If you want the best Saitek ever made hit the X35/36 USB. :) as re: the Logitech Freedom, it's a beautifully smooth stick but the lack of baseweight plus the stiff springs give it a tendency to come off the desk during abrup movement, and the stick as a whole almost feels delicate. Probably...
