What bomber was the most powerful in the WC universe

Most of the bombers are pretty sweet. Broadsword, Crossbow, Longbow, Devastator - all have awesome forward firepower, which I love. The Shrike, however, gets my vote as worst bomber. It was the only Prophecy ship in which I was actually concerned that the bugs outnumbered us 10 to one...

    WCM movie ships

Yup, that's the one. The top one is the Witchking (aka the leader of the nine ringwraiths) sword. The middle is Glamdring (Gandalf's Sword) and the bottom is Sting (Biblo/Frodo's sword). Well, IIRC the bastard sword is so called because it is halfway between a single handed and...

    Standoff stuff.

Well, I would expect battle damage to be repaired pretty quickly. Repair marks are almost always painted over to prevent corrosion. Since they probably only have standard military issue paint on board, you would have to look close to spot the repairs.

    Standoff stuff.

Well, I would imagine that a shield would actually repel the dust. Keeping things away from a fighter is, after all, the whole purpose of a shield.

    Standoff stuff.

Well, I don't see what is wrong a clean ship. Aircraft in our day (and before) are always kept clean, even if only because clean aircraft have less drag and hence travel faster and fly better. In space this doesn't matter so much, but then again, in space there is nothing to make the ship...

    Kilrathi vs. Terran ship design...

I think the original idea was that you modify the flashpak to operate like a mine, i.e. float in space and wait for a target, as opposed to a torpedo/missile type weapon that needs to be fired at a target. There is no reason why a flashpak-mine (as opposed to a traditional flashpak) wouldn't...

Yeah. A friend of mine has a genuine imitation :) ninja sword. It's about 2 1/2 feet long and has a 'nice' weight to it. I always get a smile from Cloud and Squall and all the FF guys carrying around enough iron to make a small tank. Still, I guess if you can take nuclear missile hit and...

    WCM movie ships

Exactly. The Roman short sword (and most short swords for that matter) was a stabbing weapon, not a cutting. The legionaires could stand in close formation, protected by their shields to the front, and on the sides by the shields of their comrades. They could press up close to their opponents...

Against a swordsman, yes. Against a formation of Roman swordsmen with locked shields, no. That's why the Roman legions were so successful

    WCM movie ships

Nap : Well, not to be too picky, but that statement is very broad. If you want to be general then yes, I agree that a sword is in general my personal pick the best melee weapon. It is, after all, a sharp edge designed to be swung and cut something that doesn't operate well in two pieces...

    WCM movie ships

I think most weapons have their advantages and disadvantages. e.g. a Katana is probably the finest cutting blade ever made, but a heavy axe might prove more effective against a guy in full-plate armor. So any battle would really come down to the skill of the user with their particular...

    WCM movie ships

Well, a ferret is a small, fast, agile carnivore. I think it's a perfect name for a small scout fighter like the ... err ... Ferret. Owl would be a good name for a night-fighter, except you don't have night in space. Perhaps an AWACS. Hmm ... Weasel. Maybe a black-ops infiltration unit...

Most fun and most difficult mission

Yeah. That Ralari was definitely the one I've failed the most consistently. Although to tell the truth once I worked out that I could save it, I used to semi-deliberately fail 'cos I liked the Raptor missions that the mission loss opened up for you.

Most fun and most difficult mission

I tend to ignore (well, not totally ignore) the Sarthas and just zigzag away from the Ralatha until it is out of range. IIRC, your rear turrets will still fire, although not as fast or accurately as if you were doing it yourself, so they might kill one or two of the Sartha. Once I'm out of...

    Everyone's favorite enemies are here!

Personally, I feel the grey lines/patchy coloring are a bit heavy or overstated. Btw. didn't the Retros always fly shiny white ships? Also, I know it's picky but I would have thought that the eye decal would be painted on last, and so would be over the top of everything else (e.g. the grey...

    Ace AI

I wouldn't say that. A pirate ace is someone who has been around and survived a large number of battles - probably against militia and even confed pilots. He may not be academy trained, but he's got 'on-the-job' experience, which in my opinion counts for more. Then again, he could even be an...

OK, Thats WC.. now how do they seriously work?

Ummm. What you're talking about is building a flamethrower onto the back of a model Excal :O I guess in simple terms, all (and its a pretty big all) you'd need is a pressurized fuel source (probably LPG or something), a nozzle to squirt it through and and a flame to ignite it. You're...
