My Xbox got the Red Ring of Death...

My false alarm was only a day before it broke. Anyway, just updating here that I've received a replacement 360 today exactly two weeks after sending it out. It came in a box, I plugged it in, confirmed a few settings, slapped on my hard drive, and that was pretty much all there was to it. Lots...

My Xbox got the Red Ring of Death...

It's a manufacturing defect, not much you -can- do really. I took great care of mine too.

My Xbox got the Red Ring of Death...

Yea, maybe. I got the RRoD several times before my 360 finally caved. Keep an eye on it, you might get lucky, but start planning ahead since it might bust up soon.

My Xbox got the Red Ring of Death...

So, by bumping a 5 month old thread and mentioning my own 360 troubles I also inadvertently set off a chain of events that led to a fellow Wingnut getting his RRoD'd 360 fixed up free of charge? Talk about good deed of the week baby.

My Xbox got the Red Ring of Death...

That warranty should last three years for RRoDs. What'd you get it when it first came out?

My Xbox got the Red Ring of Death...

My 360 passed away early yesterday morning. She'd been a bit sick the night before so I was kinda bracing for it though. She was a good little console and shall be missed. Anyway, I coffined her up and shipped her to Microsoft that same afternoon. Here's hoping for a speedy turnaround.

    Wing Commander MUSH revival?

This is a great idea. I'll link all the RH guys I still know of over to this thread, there's still a few of us that keep in touch.

Spanish Movie Distributor On Wing Commander (January 3, 2008)

I don't mean to drum up an old thread but I can't help but be curious since LOAF mentioned he owned it. Where exactly could I acquire the great Spanish DVD? I saw the trailer on youtube and was impressed by the dub, and since I'm natively bilingual I would love to own such an awesome DVD of Wing...

    Let's Make This Brief... (April 22, 2008)

No contest. TCS Tiger's Claw. Always thought WC1 had the best briefings in the series. WC2 is second, but I always thought they skimped a little on its briefings in comparison to how great I thought they were in WC1. Same with WC2's funerals, I think WC1's are much better.

    I miss Mushing

No it closed down after its Kilrathi War ended in late 2002. Lasted a good four years.

    I miss Mushing

I don't think i would classify freaking INDIA as a "middle of nowhere third world country" :-p. Anyway, I was on Red Horizon MUSH for three years. Had a great time. Loved it because of the roleplay and combination of the HSpace engine that actually took skill and practice to learn - it was...

    The Losing Path is Better

I think this is mostly intentional. They always strove to make the losing path missions as interesting, if not more interesting, than the winning path missions. Else why would anyone ever bother to play them? My favorite mission in WC1 is Hells Kitchen 4. I don't think the Claw actually abandons...

    Where to get Wing Commander?

99% of the time you can get anything from Ebay without any problems. If you're nervous though just get it off Amazon. They have the whole series there last I checked. I bought WC2 Deluxe Edition for a penny last year off of Amazon, plus about $2 shipping.

    Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

You should try Mass Effect on the 360. Amazing game by the guys who did Kotr1. It's probably my favorite game on the 360 yet.

What time frame would a new WC be in?

Not too terribly interested in the Nephilim war... there's a lot of history of the Kilrathi War I'd like to see in game form.

    Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

Yea I spent a few weeks playing it about a year ago. Great game. Main quest gets a bit tiresome what with all those gates, but there's plenty of other things to do.

    Cheating in the XBox 360

Well about three months ago I was playing Call of Duty 4 on veteran and found it to be -incredibly- hard. There were 3 or 4 areas in particular that I found downright sadistic. The "Mile High Club" achievement in particular... but I slogged through it and today am quite proud of my CoD4...

    Cheating in the XBox 360

I like the way the games are now with the differing levels of difficulty. They're accessible to all gamers but can still be quite challenging if we wish them so, and on the 360 many achievements can only be unlocked on high difficulties.

    A WC rumor

Hmm... I could see playing any of the Wing Commander games on the 360. The analog controls are suitable for flight sims. It'd be pretty cool if they did re-release them for the 360 but that's wishful thinking me thinks and I'm not too into that... But then, I spent all last year Ebay buying...

    Ep.3 Minelaying mission

I didn't find it -that- hard on my last playthrough, but I'd destroyed the Snakeir carrier in the prior mission. I'm sure there's a lot more Kilrathi fighters on hand if you don't.
