How much is an Xbox 360 + Arena these days? I actually got a chance to try this game out, and it is pretty fun. Not as Wing Commander-ish as I am used to, but fun in it's own right. Really kind of reminds me of what a true successor to Armada would be like.

I didn't play Wing Commander to enjoy multiplayer. I played for the single player experience and the story.

"How do you create a new game for a franchise that has a hardcore following that pleases the fans and casual gamers alike?" You stick to the roots of what the series means to them, and you don't rehash a game into a cheap arcade version that belittles the name of the game itself.

As much of a WC fan that I am, this is exactly everything WC isn't remembered for. Multiplayer, lack of story, no characters, 3rd person perspective, brainless, shoot em up, console, no joystick. I'll wait til EA makes a true sequel to WC, or atleast tries.

Ever tried taking them on without a Centaurion? I tried in a Galaxy and it was not fun.

I doubt they'll pick up Wing Commander again, as much as I'd like to see it happen. EA knows its most popular title is the Sims because it's easily accessible across multiple age groups, they rebundle sports titles yearly, unless the fans of WC get out there and tell them how much we want those...

This really reminds me of the ole SNES games Super Conflict! and Metal Marines. I really enjoyed those games, so that style of play + WC universe = !!! Good luck in your endeavour, looking good so far!
