    They don't make any money on the free one. I noticed Quicktime has the new Star Wars Trailer, but if you want to view the largest screen image, you need to buy Quicktime pro.

    Ejection pods

    Couldn't go after the pods, just didn't seem right. Wish I could have tractored them in. The intel you might be able to get from them could be useful.

    My Tolwyn Essay

    If you go to http://www.real.com head to the bottom right hand corner of the page. There will be a section called Free Downloads. Click on the one for Real Player. The link sort of lies. It takes you to a page talking about the joy of Real Player Plus (the one you have to pay for) However...

    Wich WC have the worst fighters?

    My flying leaves a bit to be desired I guess. I've always preferred big, slow and strong to small, nimble and weak. That's why I prefered the Thunderbolt to the Hellcat, the Raptor to the Rapier, and the broadosword to the Sabre. About the only time that rule doesn't hold is in WCIV where I...

    Whatever Happened to...?

    If a bunch of the bridge crew were hurt or killed during an attack, Eisen probably stepped up to fill in. That kind of initative, especialy in during a war is often rewarded. Bear's career is another example of how far and fast you can go in Confed.

    You and I can spot a good deal, the rest of the world must be made up of idiots :) Actually some days, I wonder...

    Well Balanced

    What about the Raptor? It had a good missle load, kick ass guns (albeit short range) and could take a pounding. Plus it was only 50 kps slower than the Rapier. I would take a Raptor over a Rapier any day.

    Muppets in Space

    I recall that they reach maturity rather quickly. Or at least that was the explanation given for the short period of time between Hobbes birth and his fiorst command, iirc. If they do mature quickly that might mean they have shorter life spans. Te WC2 were my favorite Kilrathi as well.

    Fleet Action -> Kilrathi dreadnoughts

    Wasn't the carrier in FC not a standard carrier. I don't have the novel here and haven't read it in a while, but I thought it was a "supercarrier" Not sure if they meant one of the Hakaga or something else. Yeah, they did call it a "supercarrier" at least in this version of the openening...

    I always thought the add-ons were such a great idea. You didn't have to pay for a full game to get a bunch more missions. Made sense to me, but I'm an outlier :)

    Maniac's Home of Record

    I took LeHah's advice. Went to half.com and found a copy for 2 bucks. I do have one question for those who would know. Did they come out with a Prophecy Gold Strategy guide as well? I saw a couple folks say they had them for sale, but I hadn't heard about them.

    I have a question...

    I know why origin/EA doesn't but it would be nice if they let the CIC or someone else legally post WC1 for downloads. I have noticed at the EA site, they have some of their older sports games available for free download. Maybe there is hope.

    Fleet Action -> Kilrathi dreadnoughts

    As you may know, I've never liked the dreadnaughts. I thought they were unrealistically large compared to the rest of the ships in the WC Unvierse. My wife of course would say, "what, you believed it all up 'til now?" Anyhow, I wonder if they are maybe not that hard to build because of what...

    You have to unzip with something like Winzip. I believe it is an .rm file, so you'll need real player, which you can get at http://www.real.com As for the talk of Tolwyn being arrogant, that's one of those words that depending on which dictionary you look at the meaning varies. The...

    At the time I remeber people grumbling (imagine that) that WCA should have been included in WC2. They didn';t see it as all that different from the simulator in the bar in WC1. Some people are never happy. I would have like to have flown more Kilrathi ships, but oh well.

    Lightspeed (I think that was his name, now I'm starting to wonder) was the younger brother of the Colonel who wrote the intro in the WCA manual. I think he was in charge of the acadmey or maybe just flight simulation, it's been a while. His brother actually died, and his hope is that you will...

    WCA uses WC2 era ships. You can choose from 4 wingmen, Maniac, Hobbes, Angel and Lightspeed. Lightspeed is a young rookie pilot who doesn't always follow orders but isn't a very good pilot, which is what is supposed to differentaite him from Maniac. In addition to the missions you can design...

    Maniac's Home of Record

    Yeah, I owned the WC1/2 guide years ago, but gave it away. I have another copy on the way to me I bought on E-bay. It was handy because in an old WC club I belonged to we would use the mission selector to fly missions, so having the guide was handy to find certain types of missions. I...

    My Tolwyn Essay

    I often screw up the spelling of his name which is why most of the time I either refer to him as the Prince or Thrak :) As for the personality overlay, it has not, to the best of my knowledge, been established when it was done, but it would have to have been before he "defected." I'm not...
