    This is Fox: Mission Acomplished.

I have Star Fox Command, though I beat it in a couple days. I didn't find it too difficult, but then again I was playing a lot of Metroid Hunters beforehand, which takes a lot of aiming with the stylus. I can't recall the specific mission, though. I'll have to play the mission again when I'm...

Not As Easy As It Used to Be (June 8, 2008)

Seriously, though? There's no need for these sorts of rebuttals. That being said, I just got the game yesterday and it's pretty freakin' entertaining! One gripe, though - at least on the 360; if you're not signed in when you first start the game, it won't save your progress. I found this out...

Goodbye, 3Dfx (For Real, This Time) (June 2, 2008)

Hyperblade! I loved that game! I still have it, actually. I think the Monster 3D bundle came with several games. I recall having a copy of Whiplash with it, as well, and Descent II: Destination Quartzon.

Goodbye, 3Dfx (For Real, This Time) (June 2, 2008)

I remember when my brother and I bought a Diamond Monster 3D card, which came with the 3Dfx version of MechWarrior 2. Good times, good times. Actually, I think we bought the Monster 3D II just before Prophecy was released. After that, it was Voodoo 3, then Voodoo 5, and finally moved out of...

    New Indiana Jones

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm glad to hear you guys liked it. I want so much to enjoy it when I finally see it; a buddy of mine was going off on it, but like LeHah pointed out, I think he was expectating way too much from it, for an Indy film. I have a feeling I'll like it. The internet is...

    Table Top RPG

It's been a looooooong time since I visited the site, so I forget exactly what "kind" of RPG it is, but: http://http://www.geocities.com/rpg_pro/towcrpg/ Wing Commander RPG.

    Making the Game - Part 8 (May 13, 2008)

The 'X' in PSX refers to the PS1's development. It was originally supposed to be a CD-Rom & SNES 'combo' system, before Nintendo killed the project. After that, Sony decided to make it a stand-alone, and the prototype phase was called "Playstation Experimental." I remember seeing the 'PSX'...

    Wing Commander, Comics or books?

If the comic idea ever gets a reboot, I'd like to get in on it.

    Wing Commander Poster Question

What kind of stock and what kind of process? The people who do my freelance printing / graphic novel printing quote about half that. But I was thinking of doing a run of 11 x 17 landscape prints.

    Wing Commander Poster Question

Abuse was great. I still have it running, actually; they've created an open-source upgrade of the engine, ala Exus for Ultima 7. Anywho, I'd love to have a poster of WC1's box art. It's legal to scan it yourself and have a poster-sized version produced for you at a printer, so long as you do...

    Making the Game - Part 1 (May 6, 2008)

I wonder if some of this proceeded to influence the 'Nomads' from Freelancer? I also second that I think the Steltek are more compelling as a mystery than a force.

WC3 - How much is it worth ?

Didn't pick up on it being an overseas release. The only thing that jumped out at me was the CD case, so I kind of looked only at those images with any interest. My work monitor is at 1600x1200 (graphic designer), so the CD's themselves were too small for me to see in any detail. But like...

And All the Ships at Sea (May 2, 2008)

Maybe if I can coordinate it right - and health permitting - my great uncle'd be up to giving a little tour. He's there a lot - he's part of the organization that preserves the museum. His stories are incredible.

And All the Ships at Sea (May 2, 2008)

The Intrepid is a must-visit, once it returns in September. If you watch the film they present in the theater there ("The Story of Intrepid"), you'll see my great uncle Felix Novelli give breath-taking accounts of what it was like on the ship, and at war. He's given more air-time than any other...

WC3 - How much is it worth ?

Hm. Question to anyone who knows; was that paperboard fold-out CD case used in the first run of the game? Because the version I got after release came with a set of standard Jewel cases, not a fold-out container.

    Fav Sci Fi stuff

You guys pretty much nailed why I like Cowboy Bebop; it's finite. I think that's why it's so acceptible to western audiences, because we're used to the 'serial' structure. Also, it's very noir - which has a special place in our entertainment culture.

    Fav Sci Fi stuff

The movie was decent in my opinion, but the series? Not so much. The only anime I let myself watch anymore is Cowboy Bebop. Another film a notch above the rest is Gattaca, and is also worth checking out for some more serious sci-fi that doesn't involve giant robots for the sake of giant robots.

    Computer game music cover versions

As for MegaMan 2, The Megas are a band who've created a 'concept album' about the game's story. Some tracks are humorously cheesy, and others are actually pretty decent (I enjoy 'The Annihilation of Monsteropolis' and 'The Quick and the Blue'.) Check their site out here. They have a sample...

    Fav Sci Fi stuff

Aha, thanks LOAF - I wasn't aware there was a standard DVD package out there that contained all five. I was aware that the HD versions did. As I don't have a player, I only have The Final Cut (and the Director's Cut that was released for DVD originally, with the crappy video and sound.) As...

    Hat Poll

I had to vote Tiger's Claw. It started it all, and to me is the most recognizably 'Wing Commander'.
