    WC wargame idea

You can still learn to program (it's not terribly hard to put together spaghetti code, although it's hard to put together good code), although making all the various components is probably going to be more difficult than a beginning programmer can figure out.

Ooops, or Maniac is a yutz.

Yeah, I don't really like the padlock mode, either. It's rather disorienting when you switch through targets... maybe if it felt more like your head was swiveling around, rather than jerking from target to target... But what I really want is still an artificial horizon or two.

    Anyone good with dumbfires?

Not that missiles need to be aerodynamic (or not aerodynamic) in space.

    Anyone good with dumbfires?

Well, yeah, you can say they had more missiles because they had more bugs, but wouldn't it be more challenging, and maybe fun, if you had to gun down all the bugs, and make the missiles more precious? I don't think, as a gameplay decision, it's clear cut. Of course, I suppose it's more dramatic.

    Who invented the airplane?

See, this is why I don't like debating the invention of the airplane; it's one of those arguments where people end up just repeating themselves over and over again, in an attempt to convince other equally convinced people. The fact that folks can't even agree on how to objectively measure what...

    Who invented the airplane?

By that reasoning, the inventor of the airplane was the same person who invented the first brick, all those thousands of years ago. By gum, we've been off not by centuries, but millenia! And wait... I bet if you can get a brick to fly, you can get a rock to fly. Surely, whoever invented the...

    Anyone good with dumbfires?

Actually, the thing I like most about missiles in WCP is shooting off zillions and zillions of them, resulting in alien ships blowing up all around you. Then you can mop up the survivors with guns. Classic. The missile trails really help in that feeling of raining death on the bugs, too.

    Prophecy sceenshot

Actually, it is important, as clearly the United States uses the right system, and everyone else needs to fall in line. ;) (Incidentally, I know that Spain uses the same system as Brazil; maybe it's common in the continental European countries.)

How did the whole thing with using , or . as the decimal separator come about, anyway? I've always wondered why people managed to come up with different systems for that.

    Who invented the airplane?

Actually, while I don't know so much about the history of the telephone (I don't know about who claimed to have invented it first, although I'm sure there'll probably be someone), both the electric lamp and the radio were not, in fact, invented first by Edison and Marconi, respectively. (In...

No no no, you're going about this all wrong. What you're supposed to do is use the common rhetorical technique of complaining about how you need to carry your buses, by hand, across leech-infested rivers, uphill both ways, and how damn it, you liked it.
