    Kilrathi vs. Terran ship design...

I thought it was quite clear. Since the post immediately before his made mention of "WCP:SO", he was correcting that to "Wing Commander Secret Ops", commonly abbreviated to WCSO. There is no such game as WCP:SO or Wing Commander Prophecy: Secret Ops.

    Kilrathi vs. Terran ship design...

Might as well give it up, Kris. As many times as this issue has been pointed out and corrected, it appears there are those who just don't get it.

    Kilrathi Saga questions...

Yes, is totally true. If you run the game from within Win9x (not with a DOS reboot, or any of that unnecessary mess), the digital joysticks work fine.

    Eeeeeew

Here's a copy of a post I made on a DVD newsgroup about just this very thing: My three cents, anyway.

    Kilrathi Saga questions...

Overlooking the fact that the original WCIII (the so-called DOS version) works perfectly fine in Win9x anyway.

    What do you guys think?

But you DID misspell 'mispell'.... ;)

    My website

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Shoot, Borty was cryin' looooong before now. And I'm always happy to point out that I had a hand in that.... :D

    My website

Heh heh. I appreciate the compliment greatly, but I would have to say that "perfect" might be a bit overboard. Was kindof fun to do a simpler site that uses no advanced technologies to speak of, though. :)

Most fun and most difficult mission

Most Fun: Can't really narrow that one down, though I did always have a thing for strike missions that required a mix of dogfighting and capship attack. And of course the final mission to Kilrah was just...well, cool. I can visualize that mission done with WCIV's surface textures.... Most...

    My website

Must you? Of course not. Though one could argue that the majority of sites on the Internet are in English (or some variant thereof) or offer an English version, by no means should you feel compelled to provide one for a personal or fan site. After all, a Freench site did very well in the last...

    How?

As I mentioned previously in the thread... Argent Sector, Shelus Quadrant. Look in the upper right of the quadrant. [Edited by OriginalPhoenix on 07-27-2001 at 17:49]

    How?

The Argent Sector, Shelus Quadrant has several systems named for early and prominent fans. Besides Lesnick, there's Reid, Hardwicke, and even a little system named Phoenix (I think I know that guy). :) Other systems are named for Origin employees that worked on the games, sci-fi authors, etc.

    Eat your heart out, Tallahassees

Re: WOW! I've got a number designs at my WC Web site (URL in my sig). Check out the Science Labs section for brief narratives and an image for each; I also have full specs for each vessel listed that I could provide if you're interested.

    Killing Krant

Krant have one very apparent weakness -- they turn slow as molasses, which means their weakly defending sides are to you for a couple of seconds. Try unloading several full bursts of gunfire into their sides as they turn to engage you. Depending on your ship and your range, one or two passes...

    Acenet Central

No, it's not dead. There just hasn't been any reason to update it, really. The PBMs are done by e-mail, and WC news is covered by the CIC. As anything otherwise important to the club comes up, it will be displayed.
  16. OriginalPhoenix

    How?

What are you talking about? WCI was in fact released in 1990, as the previous post alludes to.

why was the Arrow's speed lowered after Armada?

Wha...??? If Flash is good in the game, then the other pilots are absolutely legendary. Flash sucks.

why was the Arrow's speed lowered after Armada?

I didn't say he was a coward; I said he was a pansy. He tries to find the easy way out of things, and whines about it when things don't go just the way he wants. Also, testing CAN be dangerous. Fighting on the front lines IS dangerous. Significant difference. :)

why was the Arrow's speed lowered after Armada?

I meant, it should be standard equipment, not necessarily cheaper. The F-22 costs more than the F-15 it is designed to replace, but it's still going to become the standard USAF fighter in a few years.

why was the Arrow's speed lowered after Armada?

Flash was, not test pilots in general. IT's made very clear in the novel that he was handed the test job due to his father's influence (IIRC) so he would be out of harm's way. And considering his reluctance to participate in the scramble mission in the game.... You get the idea. He's a pansy. :)
