    Forgotten WC4 scene

Absolutely no problem...couldn't care less. Screen caps and the such are not my primary concern when it comes to others lifting them. I mean, realistically, ANYONE could get screen caps. And given that this one is ancient by comparison to others I've done since... Using original artwork I've...

    Forgotten WC4 scene

Whether it's in the PSX version, I can't be sure, but it's definitely in the trailer. I know because that's where I got the screen cap from a couple of years ago, and had on my WC site back then. Obviously someone liked it and held on to a copy... ;) (And since I'm sure someone will ask, yes...

    Pre-WC1 Ships

Personally, I thought it was quite clear that Paladin launched four torps. Otherwise, it was a couple of very big, very slow missiles that looked exactly like the torps. ;)

    Am I dumb

Are you dumb? Hard to say since we don't really KNOW you. Are you ACTING dumb? Without question, yes.

    Wing Commander III

I've never had a problem running WCIII in Win9x. Ironically, i just reinstalled it (the DOS version, though I have Kilrathi Saga as well) last weekend, and played a few misisons. Put in the CD, run the install program, then start the game right there in Win98. Never had an issue.

    Next WC game

Um..the aliens in WCP are NOT the Mantu.

    Cz Faq

Q: Does that LOAF guy REALLY know everything there si to know about Wing Commander? A: Not everything, but about as close to it as a naturally-conceived human CAN know...

    WC IV endings

ALL decisions concerning Panther and Hawk affect the overall eventual tally, yes. But in the one-on-one instances, you are altering only that ONE person's morale, one point up or down. In the three "core" decisions that I listed, you are raising one while lowering the other. In essence, you have...

    Kilrathi Clans

LOAF's immense knowledge sometimes makes me want to Re'gurg'i'tate. :)

    WC IV endings

Wedge: While I would tend to agree with you in principle, the simple fact that it's one of three decisions that affect BOTH Hawk's and Panther's morale in opposing directions is what makes that choice a weighted one.

    WC IV endings

I think this topic comes up every few weeks. Maybe it should be "stuck". Here's the deal: The ending you get is dependent upon Hawk's and Panther's morale at the time of the Assembly confrontation. Your choices in the Assembly serve only to provide a chance to lose the game, even if you've...

When and How you heard or saw something about WC for the first time?

T'was Fall of 1991, and I was in my first semester of my senior year in undergrad school (yes, I know I'm rather showing my age there). Anyway, I went to meet up with one of my study group buddies upstairs in the dorm, and when I get there, he's playing this really cool looking game. Turns out...

    WC Storyline

While it may be a shameless plug, I offer up my own WC site: http://taskforce16.solsector.net/index.html Reference Vault section, choose Timeline That has been compiled from pretty much all of the official sources listed here, and is (in my not-so-humble opinion) among the easiest to...

    Fighters aboard Carriers

How about 81,496 tonnes? Just to be different. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

    Carrier flight groups

Which is pretty much a direct repeat of my post earlier in the thread (minus the cruiser info, sicne cruisers weren't really part of the inital discussion). :)

    Carrier flight groups

What I find interesting is that regardless of the definition that Capn Johnny provides, the actual sizes (length and tonnage) demonstrate that frigates are indeed SMALLER than destroyers. See an earlier post of mine in this thread, where I give definitive specs for the predominant classes of...

yet another fan movie in the works :)

Sorry to do this here, but the e-mail function has been "disabled by the admin". Conrad, could you please drop me an e-mail at kscholl@attbi.com when you have a moment? I have a small favor to ask of you regarding this movie project... Thanks!

    Carrier flight groups

For some reason, I doubt that the dictionary has much to say about the actual sizes of these vessels, other than generic terms such as "large", or "sizable". :)
  19. OriginalPhoenix

    Carrier flight groups

Many people would consider the destroyer escort of WWII to be pretty much a frigate in both form and function -- slightly smaller, somewhat lighter armed, and customized for the anti-submarine role.
  20. OriginalPhoenix

    Carrier flight groups

True, but then ask yourself: was there such a thing as destroyers and cruisers during the age of sail? The answer would be no. Frigates were by default the largest (and most powerful), because nothing larger had been conceived of. Freespace and Star Wars...fictional universes, as WC. I'm...
