Bad news for you: I once had a similar problem with switching from Norton 2000 to 2002. The problem is, the uninstaller didn't uninstall all files. So I thought, the only way would be uninstalling it manually (+ in registry) and guess what? The whole system was down - Norton giving a boot error...

Have you tried yet to watch the movie manually under Windows? I mean the one, which doesn't play when crashing? Maybe that movie is corrupt itself. But honestly I can't tell for sure, cause I haven't played through wcIV dvd yet...

And switching off L1/L2 cache does not always help. I tried it with both my PIVs and my father'S Athlon XP and the game and videos were unplayable slow - just like the whole PC. I guess it only works for older CPUs / OSes etc...

No wonder VDMS didn't work, it's for Win NT systems only. I'd say the best thing you could do is create a DOS boot disk. Sorry, no idea what's going wrong there, never had that error :( I've seen several Threads about Joysticks there already. Most of them had no replies from the developers, and if so, it was something like: "We don't care" :( - I guess they have just too much work to do for DosBox at the moment...

The only thing I currently know about Joystick support in DOSBox is, that the developer team is working on it and trying to improve it. That would explain why the CVS is better for you than DosBox 0.61. But the Joystick support is not finalized yet and will improve in future DosBox / CVS.

Ah, compared to the amount of RAM it isn't that much anymore, but just about right ;) - At least I learned to use 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 virtual mem compared to RAM. AND: Bad news :( The latest Cat 4.6 drivers didn't help my ATI 9700 Pro. The Game still crashes :(
