    WC1 and WC2 in WinME

You could try out to make a bootdisk and use a slow down tool to run the game under pure dos, OR use Dosbox from http://dosbox.sf.net which emulates a whole DOS PC. Most with Win9x oses prefer the pure dos method, others the old PC method, but dosbox also runs under windows 9x. The advantage of...

    Privateer 2 + speed issues.

For P TWO it is better to use the windows patch, available under the wcnews file section. The part you quoted was about Priv ONE and NOT TWO ;) - It was just a reply to a guy having probs with that one.

    Privateer 2 + speed issues.

Is that USB or Gameport? And is it under real DOS or Windows? Cause Edfilho just talked about real DOS and I guess he also meant the USB ones, which won't run there...

    Wing Commander 2 and XP

Yes, there is: Check out Dosbox @ http://dosbox.sf.net - it should work fine ;) The best to do first is to read the whole readme that comes with it and search this Forum, if you get into any trouble. If you still can't get it to work or have got other probs, just ask ;)

    WC3 Kilrathi Saga WinXP

Yes, and every other combi I could think of :( Will do that now and report back, if it worked. If not, who cares :D

    Privateer 2 + speed issues.

What CPU do you have? Cause if you are using Dosbox 0.61 you need at least 2Ghz to have privateer running at normal speed. BUT on the other hand you might want to try out a CVS version. Here is one CVS version which gulikoza compiled. That version is way faster than DosBox 0.61 - it "only" needs...

    WC3 Kilrathi Saga WinXP

Whenever I alt enter the game, press ctrl-alt-del it crashes after the movie finished - no matter what settings I select. For me ctrl-alt-del is a totally nono :( Here is a quote from another Thread: Anyway, our university got a nice offer from Microsoft and no I can get quite some MS stuff...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

It's not your fault, but mine, cause i didn't know how you would call what I am talking about ^^ So here is my idea for the front (just idea, nothing serious): See here And YES, it is indead very ugly made ;) So a short explanation: My idea for the front is to make a jump-hole (or how it's...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

Thx for the offer. But I've got SO full version as well ;) The problem with most of the loading screens are the low res. But I haven't tried out yet whether the loading screen turns 1280x960 as well when using the glide wrapper... Good idea :) Although I haven't used cd covers anymore...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

I'd say the second one fits better for a cover as well. If you would redo them for 300dpi that would be great - I don't think we need 600dpi for that, cause it's not scanned in or so and we have to make the text on our own anyway ;) Btw, if you want, I could make some screenshots in 1024x768...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

I just got back home yesterday evening. I'll scan it in as soon as I'm back at university (no scanner here). And things aren't coming along that much, cause I'm writing / learning for exams at the moment :( EDIT: I've just checked the cover I was talking about. My memory was totally wrong :( I...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

Then I guess I got you wrong ;) Anyway, I got an idea for the Wing Commander Secret Ops Front: I've got still lying arround (somewhere) my Wing Commander CD-case Front Cover that came with the gamestar. No idea what it looks like, cause I haven't used it in years (copied the files to my HDD)...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

No, that is too hard. I said: imo it doesn't look better. - it looks as good as. In fact, I was thinking about doing the same at first, but cause of the reasons I mentioned above I can't. :( - MINE would look quite bad then (except one or two) The only thing I do not like that much about the...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

StewMc, I like your idea about the lining up the cover sides, and I'd do that myself as well, but I've got some problems: 1. The Standard Font-size you use is a bit small for my covers, imo 2. (cause of 1 as well) in order to have the whole text fitting on the side for every cover, I'd have to...

Making WC DVD-case covers (1. try)

I've finally finished my Wing Commander I & II Combo Cover But I won't be able to upload it at the moment. Maybe next weekend, but I can't tell for sure. To the Wing Commander Privateer Covers: I didn't have enough time to start to make the Privateer Cover yet. - I could email you the files...

    A word on WC4 in Win2K - I'm working on a fix.

I've fiddled arround some more with my KS WC3 and found out the following: - although I run your bat file, which sets gamepriority to low, Windows still runs it at High Priority - Using windowed mode (like someone here or in another Thread suggested) also didn't help me - Whenever I ALT-Tab...

I tried that, still crashes :(

Wing Commander Games and Windows XP - A Summary

I haven't found a solution for the music bug in wc3 (dos) with vdms. But I tried out a newer CVS version of DOSBox. And that one has got no sound probs :) It's also quite playable - except when hitting enemies it still slows down, but not as much as it did with 0.61. So hopefully 0.62 will it...

    WC4 DVD/XP+Joystick problems

There is also a wc4 usb patch available @topnailas. But no idea how good it works. See here: http://www.crius.net/zone/showthread.php?t=9530 But cause you are all on Gameport, I don't think that helps you much. :( AND to known Joystick to work with WC4: My MS Sidewinder Precision Pro works...

MY Wing Commander IV DVD broke into two pieces :(

No, I didn't use much power or so. It just broke somehow :( Never happened to me before. Thx StewMc, for the info. And the good thing about that is, he ships worldwide :) - And the price is quite ok as well - ~20$ with shipping. Now the only question is, what payments he accepts worldwide (And...
