Run All Old WC Games in DOSBox Walkthrough

That's a common problem. You need to start loadfix to prevent that bug. Either add it to your autoexec in the dosbox.conf or start it before starting wc2. Btw, I guess it might be agood idea to post all my seperate conf files here, so you guys know what to set for each game. - Yes that'll be...

    Wing Commander III - GFSAMPLE.IFF

for dosbox: You have to disable ems (set it to FALSE in config file), that should fix it. But forgot how I did fix it with VDMS :\ Anyway, WC3 still runs a bit too slow in combat, but is definitely playable, imo. - But that's with a 3.2Ghz CPU. No idea how it runs on much slower PCs like...

Wing commander prophecy movie playback problems

There are different ways to fix it: 1. The easiest way is to install the Video-skip fix made by HCl you can get it here: https://www.wcnews.com/files.shtml#wcp 2. Another method is to disable hardware sound acceleration (doesn't work for everyone though...) 3. etc: forgot those, but...

    Voodoo or not to Voodoo?

That's the best wrapper I've used so far. And it has some advanteges over a true Voodoo card^, imo: - You can double the Resolution for older games that only support, for example 640x480 res. (That's what I do for WC Prophecy, SO, UE instead of high res patch or so ;) ) - Used on a newer card...

Can't play Secret Ops in XP

Are you running Wing Commander Secret Ops in Windows 2000 comp mode? I have to so, otherwise it won't even start.

Prophecy and Secret Ops in XP (was: WCP video question)

? I thought you just have to install it, that's it. - At least that's how it worked for me... or wait: You are talking about WC Prophecy and not WC Privateer? I ask, cause you just said wcp and complained about movies too fast, and not about skips - like usual (ok, those skips sometimes are so...

Prophecy and Secret Ops in XP (was: WCP video question)

Try out the "video skip fix" made by HCl - it's in the wcnews files section: https://www.wcnews.com/files.shtml#wcp Normally that should work ;) Good luck.

WC III (dos ver) in Win 2k question

Sorry, that I have to say this: :( Welcome in the club. That is a very common problem, and there is no general fix for it yet. Check out this thread, maybe some tips there fix it for you. - For me they didn't :( http://www.crius.net/zone/showthread.php?t=8912

    Kilrathi Saga, Win98, 21" monitor

I'd say it might be an aTI driver prob or a ATI rage specific, cause I don't have any probs with the resolution with my ATI 9700Pro and DX8.1 or dx9.

    WC2 dosbox problems

You have to add "loadfix" to your autoexec.bat in the dosbox.conf. Without it, I had the same problem (or was it only with Dosbox 0.60? Can't remember :( )

    Kilrathi Saga joystick problems

Hmm, I've got a German Windows, so maybe the names are wrong, but they should be similar to this anyway: click on -> Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Gamecontroller Now you should see your Joystick listed as Controller with Status OK. - If not, that's the problem. And to check the Axes...

DosBox: How does the mapper work?

I only know how to start the tool to create such a mapper.txt: When in dosbox, press ctrl+F1. That'll load it. But don't ask me how to use it, I don't know either :( So best is to really ask at the mypixel forum or the dosbox forum, like moonsword said.

    Kilrathi Saga joystick problems

If you are using MS Dos as your OS, forget it. MS Dos doesn´t recognise USB devices. Yeah, that's a good question, what OS are you running? Reading is difficult, I know ;) Anyway, we need more info to be able to help you. Best to start with, are Moonsword's questions. Oh, and which...

    kilrathi saga and win xp

That already exists. It's either called Windows Comp mode or MS Virtual PC (or similar progs) And as I said above, that seems to be a prob with your pc, no general one with win xp. I've tried out several pcs, and other's did so as well, and you are the first one to mention it. So don't give up...

    For tech support regulars

I personally don't care that much, if someone says thank you or not. - But most of the time they do anyway. What I do not like that much is if someone doesn't tell that his/her prob is fixed or doesn't reply to pc specs questions or so. OR if they got it fixed themselves and don't say HOW -...

    kilrathi saga and win xp

Your KS WC1 and 2 run too fast? wow, I didn't know that was possible ^^ (they run at correct speed on both my PIV 3/3.2Ghz, as well as my m8's 2.4Ghz Athlon XP - so I guess might be a athlon 64 routine or so.) Anyway, there are several ways to slow down your PC: 1. disable CPU cache in bios...

Need some tech help with Dosbox

Well, if that is all you did, no wonder it doesn't work. You also have to mount a hdd or directory as c: If you did that as well and just forgot to mention it, I#ve got no other idea at the moment, sorry :(

Another damn Wing Commander IV DVD question

If I remember right, gulikoza tested his patch under Win Me himself as well, and it crashed (can't tell for sure, currently too lazy to re-read the whole thread again ;) ) It's only reported to run under XP, 2k and 98 yet, I think. So if gulikoza did not find a fix for Me yet, your only option...
