I guess the advantage simply is a quicker launch. It's definitely quicker than any launch in WC3+4. Also, the Midway's hangar is seperated from the "launcher tubes" you are in when launching in WCP. This is intended to make sure no single fighter flying into the hangar bay can shut it down...

It's not that simple! Well, I took the time of doing some research on what the different companinies' attitude towards abandonware is. I mailed different companies to see what they say. Here is what I found out: Microsoft hasn't responded (so far). Activision regards all abandonware...
