I downloaded the mod this week after grabbing Homeworld on a discount Steam sale. It looks brilliant!
Will it update automatically when I launch Steam?
Excellent! Good to see some progress. The intake (that's what I've always assumed it to be) looks spot on to me. I like the mock-up idea; it could be very useful as a guide for the final model.
Keep up the good work!
I've had many a spin in my Aurora, and I won't be buying another ship. I want to repeat the Privateer experience starting with the Star Citizen equivalent of a Tarsus. :)
I've contributed money in other ways as well, but no more ships for me.
I'd suggest the GOG route since a) they have added cool updates such as HD quality movies for WC4 and Prophecy, and b) it takes care of the compatibility issues. You would have a hard time getting many of the original versions to run on a modern Windows PC.
I bought an Aurora back in November of 2012. Still only have a single Aurora. Every little bit helps, right?
Besides, CIG have always been adamant that you don't have to buy more ships if you don't want to.
Which would make DOS the most successful. Are we still using it? Of course not. Times have moved on.
I don't want to sidetrack this thread, and since you are clearly set in your ways we'll leave it be.
There you are then. XP may feel comfortable but it's holding you back, badly. It simply wasn't designed to make use of modern hardware. At some point security risks, poor hardware support and lack of new drivers will outweigh any familiarity benefits.
My 2c.
I chuckle every time I see people commenting about how Sq42 was the goal of the crowdfunding campaign, and the persistent universe plan only resulted as more money came in. This video makes it clear that the idea of Star Citizen's persistent universe has been floating about in CR's head for two...
Ouuuuuuch... Yes, that hurts. My sympathies. But as you said, better now than with the real thing.
Was this regular cold glue that you use on wood as well?
Interesting, I can see how a mockup could be useful.
Excalibur's front fuselage is tricky to get right. It's actually curved along the side profile as opposed to angular. The only way I could get the shape right was to build the nose tip out of very thick balsa slabs and then trim it down...
Don't know how many you'll end up with, but I'll tell you this much: Once you start building, odds are you'll go back and measure some more, especially when adding surface detail and fittings.
Either way, looking good so far!
