    New 3D Thread

I think it's time to admit you have a problem. :-) Great work as always! Question though: The deck surface ahead of the hangar bay doors looks curved and rough with deck plating. I assume you've gone a different route to the original where these where depicted as sort of extended runways, like...

New 3d printable Privateer, Tarsus model on thingiverse...

Absolutely stunning. The Tarsus was never a pretty ship but you somehow managed to make it sexy! Outstanding job.

    Star Citizen slow performance.....?

Buggy or not, the baby universe is a blast to play. The current version is surprisingly stable; I haven't had a crash in ages.

    Star Citizen slow performance.....?

Yeah, just forget about playing the tutorial for now. Besides, Crusader is much more interesting.

Indeed, there's been plenty of additional material, including official behind-the-scenes books or technical manuals, that do a great job of adding to the depth of the Star Wars universe. Credit where it's due; old George created a very compelling and believable world, without really stopping to...

First Contact had all the right ingedients, sure. My view its that it was more successful because it had enough action to satisfy more casual movie-goers that weren't as invested in the franchise. They could get away with making more of an action-oriented film and yet keeping to the core of the...

First Contact is my personal favourite Trek film. I also dearly love Insurrection, despite what the critics said. It plays like a very long TNG episode, which suits me just fine.

True that.. :D I think Palpatine being Anakin's daddy would have made for a much better plot twist.

I have a borrowed behind-the-scenes technical manual on the Enterprise-D written by Rick Sternbach and Michael Okuda that says otherwise. How much time do they spend at any point in Star Wars trying to explain how anything works? They don't; you just accept that it does. Trek on the other hand...

Chris Roberts Gets His Gigabits On (February 24, 2016)

Star Citizen is really making waves now, even outside the gaming community. This is exciting stuff!

I don't think anyone in the Trek camp wants Star Wars thrown under a bus; they would just prefer that Trek stays true to its origins instead of being unduly influenced by Star Wars tropes. There is precedent for this. It's a well-documented story that Paramount made the first Trek movie as a...

Because the tone and style of SW and Trek have always been fundamentally different. SW is fantasy in space and puts a high priority on action sequences. Classic Trek is story-driven first and foremost, and in episodic format is much slower paced than SW. It's also closer to proper sci-fi and...

Go for it! I borrowed it straight from the game anyway. Tried to stick as close to the source material as possible. If you need a different angle, give me a shout.

    Defiance's Eyecandy Thread

Yep, I wasn't a fan of the WC3 Hellcat paint job, I thought it was a bit dull. I also tend to think that I enjoyed flying the WC4 version more because 4 is overall a better game for me. Hard to be sure. I am shamelessly plugging my own work on your thread (sorry, sorry..), but seeing as you are...

Lovely! Have to agree, there is something special about the Hellcat aesthetically. It just looks right somehow as a fighter. Rugged, tough, no frills. I prefer the WC4 version, which is why I built that one.

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

Personally I much prefer the lighter textures, the one on the right seems a bit busy.

What's wrong with that statement? Seems about right.
