Sure there are...see the addons section - you need mpeg2 and ac3 filters.

Error rendering file usually means you do not have proper direct show filters installed.

Copy autoexec.nt from windows\repair folder or from your windows cd.

What is the exact message? Did you try to use the alternate mpeg2.dll? Please also check the date and exact size (in bytes) of the wc4dvd.exe. If it differes from the ones stated on my page you'll have to send both the exe and the mpeg2.dll to me to check if it's a different build.

The patch was not extensively tested in win98 since it was targeted for win xp. It's possible something is broken :). The other alternative is to find an older windvd version (2.1) and run without the patch since it has real MCI drivers. Most of the problems come from different mpeg2...

You mean the game crashes? Click details and see which module is crashing it. I know PowerDVD isn't compatible with the game and causes it to crash, you might want to uninstall it and install mpeg2dec instead.

Press CTRL-1 to get to mapper screen. You can see joystick controls on the top right side. To map it press 1, Y-, 2, etc..., click add, push the joystick button or move it, then press save. When you click exit, dosbox will automatically create mapper.txt. Hope this helps.

Right click on the exe file, properties->compatibility and select Run this program in compatibility mode for. Or...NStriker has just sent me a fix which makes the game work without this option set. Click on my signature to get it on my page...

Haven't really thought of that :). I've renamed the exe file and you're right, it fails on VirtualProtect() error...applied your fix and it works again :D. This might not be big news to people running XP, but those still on W2K this is life saving :cool:
