    A-17 Broadsword

Looks great Howard. I'm still trying to decide if the red and blue colours used are a little over-saturated at the moment or not...Part of me feels it detracts from the "realism" a little...As always, a purely personal choice... As for paint schemes...Ha - A Jolly Rodgers paint scheme would...

    A-17 Broadsword

Great work, as always, Howard. It certainly does show off the shear size of her, far better than I've ever seen. How are you envisaging this interchangeable texturing will work? Some sort of in-game alpha mapping or masking etc? I guess whatever technique is used in RTS games to differentiate...

    Is this project dead?

No no no. You're missing the point. Duke Nukem Forever got cancelled because 3D Realms insisted on making their own engine and not switching to Vega Strike. Unfortunately, this was something that charlieg warned the studio about many years ago. :p

    Better luck next time

Based on some comments here this might be a pointless question - But what gives you that impression LOAF? Anything in particular?

    The Wing Commander of Uprising

Leaving aside the developer's personal reasons for leaving either company, the real disappointment for me with Lucasarts was that not only did they move away from some of the great original IP that had created over the previous decades, but it seems (at least IMHO) that the quality of their...

    The Wing Commander of Uprising

Well...Lucasarts seem much like EA in that they are content to sit on incredibly successful franchises and series regardless of what the fans think/want. Imagine the popularity of another Monkey Island game? Or a new game in the X-Wing series? What about Full Throttle or a new Dark Forces/Jedi...

    The Wing Commander of Uprising

You know, history may well prove me wrong (Didn't Tolwyn have a thing or two to say about history? ;)) but I also tend to think of this as more than a mere coincidence or "isn't that a nice little nod to WC". This is one of the biggest software publishers in the world with a massive PR...

    FB-202 "Ghoul" Long Range Fighter/Bomber

Damn Howard. You knocked that interior up quickly! Looks great! :) I know you're probably done with the whole thing now but I had a couple of suggestions regarding the take-off sequence - Those poor plebs on the flight deck are going to have to polish all those grooves out of the tarmac...

Where should we discuss the WCPedia?

Perhaps an image-based link from the main article would work well...It would "pretty up" some of the articles and allow you (the authors) the chance to select the most accurate of the fan designs to feature on the main page. Clicking on the clearly captioned fan art image from the main page...

Looking spectacular there Howard! Damn - Those teeth look great. ;)

Where should we discuss the WCPedia?

I completely agree. Just as important, fan art must be labled and credit given to the artist who created it as well. Eg "Artists impression/interpretation of Ship X", as well as a note in the body of the article indicating that no cannon/official images of the ship exist. *Shrugs* As...

    Burrows Gets a Facelift (December 2, 2008)

I knew the aspect ratio...Err...aspect would come up... ;) Regardless of which is considered the "correct" aspect, I much prefer the 1st and 3rd images - That's what Burrows looked like when I played Privateer all those years ago and that's just how he looks right to me. :)

Where should we discuss the WCPedia?

I can't seem to find an answer for this (at 1:30am so forgive me if I've missed it) but what's the story as far as images for articles? Are you sticking strictly to in-game and FMV or would you accept accurate fan-made images? I have a decent collection of good quality models from the various...

    Burrows Gets a Facelift (December 2, 2008)

You know...Staring at the original reference a little more, I wonder...I think part of what makes Burrows look so unique is the pronounced ovoid shape of his eyes. Although they are thin (ie their "height" for want of a better term), they are quite "wide". I don't think this remake quite...

    Burrows Gets a Facelift (December 2, 2008)

If it's feedback you're after I'd say this is an outstanding remake of Burrows. Far better than I would have expected. Some great work there John! I do agree on the vertical stretch that Madman mentions. I hope you don't mind - I did a very quick and nasty photoshop job to show what I think...

    FB-202 "Ghoul" Long Range Fighter/Bomber

There's another idea Howard...For the pod - Interchangeable modules...Depending on the mission it could have an ECM/jamming system, AWACS module, a torpedo launching system (good size for something like that)...Hell, comparing the size of it to the cockpit, you could even equip it with a...

    FB-202 "Ghoul" Long Range Fighter/Bomber

Well I sorted out the render-speed issues. I use FinalRender and after a lot of experimenting, I turned on Micro-Triangle Displacement and just did a render with the ship filling half the frame at 1920 x 1080 in 36 seconds. MUCH better. :D On the Goblin - I have two suggestions/observations for...

    FB-202 "Ghoul" Long Range Fighter/Bomber

Howard - First of all, thanks for releasing the Drakthli - What a fantastic design. Brilliant work as usual. :) I have a question regarding the mesh though - I am using 3DS Max 2009 64-bit and for reasons beyond my understanding I am getting horrific rendering speeds with the unaltered scene...

    Red Alert 3 Dials 867-5309 (August 21, 2008)

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that if RA3 is succesful, you'll see a resurrgence of live action footage in games. C&C always had live action. Right from the start in 1995. Since then all of the games in the Tiberuim wars and Red Alert series' have had it. You really couldn't make...
