    That's an awesome idea - just swap out the shield HUD gauge for one that has an 'outline only' image of the ship while it's cloaked. More scripting I suppose. Don't even know if it's possible as I stay the hell away from FRED. Or at least the crazy parts of it.

    You can kind of fake a capship having forward guns by just making single-part turrets with firepoints facing forwards and defining "fire down normals" in the table entry for the turret. AI doesn't know what to do at close range but it should fire off a couple of shots as it closes in from a bit...

    There is a description of the kilrathi writing system in one of the manuals I remember, describing vertical sets of lines, four per glyph, and each set sounding out a phonic. You can see this on the dralthi cockpit from wc1, just above the pilots knees next to the left and right vdu's.

    I like the assymetrical style - I would just totally remove all the outer circular parts. Anything that frames the entire HUD. Less is more.

    So long as whatever gets designed has large open areas with dangerous ledges and pits and openings into space. It strikes me that the Kilrathi are somewhat lacking in the occupational safety and health area... So no guard rails! And there better be some sharp pointy objects to run into!
