    Wing Commander ship design inspirations

Not at all! I think most of us would have come straight to the CIC and post pictures if we'd seen that shirt!

    Wing Commander ship design inspirations

That's a good one! I'd forgotten about the Batwing entirely, haven't really followed Batman since I was very small. I was going to suggest that the Galaxy has DNA from the Millenium Falcon, but looking at the two side by side I just can't find enough in common.

Think Positive Thoughts For LOAF (July 17, 2016)

To the resident Wing Commander walking encyclopedia and possibly the most knowledgeable Wing Commander enthusiast on Earth; get well soon. ...and I only saw this after making a new thread about ship designs and feel kinda bad now.

    Wing Commander ship design inspirations

@Lilja 's recent thread about the t-shirt with the Raptor-esque fighter got me thinking about the origins of some of our familiar Wing Commander craft. Before that discussion was had, I didn't have a clue the Raptor had an immediate design inspiration. So I've been thinking about designs, and...

    If not Hobbes Then who?

I don't see why not. By the end of the war, Blair is a broken man; haunted by the countless deaths of friends, colleagues and his love interest and numb with physical and emotional exhaustion by the time he destroys Kilrah. I suppose in the hypothetical alternative universe you suggest where...

Best Contraption For Mass Destruction (July 5, 2016)

Indeed, the completed version of the Behemoth would have surpassed anything either side had produced during the war; even the Sivar Dreadnought. Shame about those 'soft spots' Tolwyn warned us about!

Best Contraption For Mass Destruction (July 5, 2016)

It's beautiful isn't it? I love that scene, the way the light from the PTC's blast illuminates the Fralthra before impact. I can just watch it loop, over and over. That does it! WC2 and SO play through on my day off tomorrow!

Best Contraption For Mass Destruction (July 5, 2016)

I went with the tablet, I could use it to reflect sunlight and hail passing ships like a signalling mirror...I think this misses the point of the question though, because in reality if I had to be stranded for a lifetime with no other Wing Commander media (a life sentence in prison maybe) then...

    Moving to Alaska

What a lovely gesture! At the risk of going off topic, if you're moving to Alaska you should definitely look at playing the survival game The Long Dark ...although I dare say it may put you off moving someplace cold.

FAO: Europe and the rest of the world.

The situation is so complicated, it just seems that after decades of violence between two (very committed) factions that a number of the northerners would be aggrieved if as a result of Brexit they found themselves part of Ireland. That said, there are plenty of moderates in NI who advocate...

FAO: Europe and the rest of the world.

I'm sorry but that is absolutely wrong. Look into Northern Irish loyalism; the divide between Republican Catholics and Northern Protestants goes far deeper than any British meddling. You can bet your house that Northern Ireland will stay in the UK regardless, the possibility of them joining ROI...

FAO: Europe and the rest of the world.

I think I heard a snippet on the news yesterday saying that the refugee camp will remain in place for the forseeable future. Meanwhile, the EU has said we can't access the free market unless we allow free movement of EU citizens in and out of the UK.

Help A Wingnut, Get Cool Art (June 28, 2016)

All the best Ninja, and I sincerely hope you're ok. As it happens I'm currently in the middle of a personal financial meltdown too; but in a few weeks I'll see if I can't pitch in - always loved your work.

FAO: Europe and the rest of the world.

There are too many well written posts here, and I don't particularly feel like quoting paragraphs en-masse and replying in essay form. However, I will attempt (as briefly as I can) to draw a line under my involvement in this thread by trying to justify my 'leave' stance in the interest of...

FAO: Europe and the rest of the world.

Yeah, shielding ourselves from further Eurozone meltdown is a plus - although in the short term, we'll be having plenty of meltdowns of our own.

FAO: Europe and the rest of the world.

:D You're all heart. Great post. Although I'd argue Labour aren't exactly outright socialists even now under the dinosaur 70s socialist throwback Corbyn - who, incidentally, vocally opposed the EEC in decades gone by. When he was appointed leader, there was a minor revolt within the party...

So...5.30am here and it's pretty much settled that we're leaving the EU. What do you all make of it? Are we crazy? Are you jealous?

    Non functioning motherboard/new build advice

It's dead, I can't get it working. As a last ditch I've sent it for a free assessment and repair quote, anything more than £70 and I'm selling it as faulty.

    Non functioning motherboard/new build advice

Thanks guys, unfortunately I'm a bloody idiot - I bought the board from a guy on Gumtree who insisted on bank transfer - he seemed legit enough, sent me lots of pictures of the board, dated with post-it notes. Should have set alarm bells ringing that he claimed "not to use PayPal" - now he's not...
