    Excuse me brother...

If not a phone call, might I suggest a PM for such communication? For one, it greatly increases the chance he will see it. And another it doesn't clutter up the board with with what is really non-public conversation. The first letter after all stands for "Privacy". I can't speak for...

Tutorial Helps Maximize Your Digital WC3 (October 17, 2015)

In the video, he uses Timbres of Heaven 3.1. For the record, ToH is at 3.3 beta and is the recommended version from Don Allen. (3.2 is also available) http://midkar.com/soundfonts/index.html

Wcdx - Kilrathi Saga for modern Windows

Well in the original dos versions it wasn't for WC1 and 2, but was in WC3 sort of. In wc3 if you just hit arrow, you turn slowly. If you hit shift-arrow, you turn quickly. Apparently they tried to implement that function into WC2KS (but not WC1KS?) with some really strange results. Just...

Wcdx - Kilrathi Saga for modern Windows

Try holding shift. It speeds up movement so it doesn't do a slow ramp up in speed and is instead instantaneously fast. It is annoying as heck, but it is possible...sort of...

Run All Old WC Games in DOSBox Walkthrough

Are you on OSX? GDI I would not recommend as it is a performance hit and wouldn't effect the way MacWine does it's video rendering. Kiltrathi Saga wcdx is the way to go for 1 and 2, though i haven't tried WC3.

Wcdx - Kilrathi Saga for modern Windows

Run All Old WC Games in DOSBox Walkthrough

I fear wc4 dvd version doesn't work, at least not on OSX with the way the movies are relayed to quicktime, (quicktime player not supporting the proper codecs) doesn't do it. on Linux however I have heard of some success with Prophecy DVD version, so maybe holds true for WC4. For now though we...

Wcdx - Kilrathi Saga for modern Windows

Are you sure you followed the instructions for fixing the music? Because that worked pretty well for me on multiple machines. (including wine)

Best Joystick for $40 or less?

I feel like I've owned one before, but then I feel that way about almost every joystick...

Best Joystick for $40 or less?

Yes but the Thrustmaster HOTAS X (my brother actually had one) you can at least separate the joystick and throttle to either side of the keyboard so the keyboard isn't in the way, or you don't have to move far from your monitor (if you have a giant monitor, that might not matter so much)...

Best Joystick for $40 or less?

G.o for the ThrustMaster T.16000M. Like the venerable Sidewinder it uses magnetic sensors, and is really smooth and accurate. As oppose to everything else which uses potentiometers and just wear out pretty quickly to the point where you can't center them anymore (Even the Logitech 3D pros...

    Is SWC harder than WC1?

Over all the differences are pretty slight. I sometimes feel the 3do version looks a little better. And the music is being pumped through the quicktime synth. The console interface is intact, but you have the advantage of the keyboard's many buttons and shortcuts. And I think that's really...

    Is SWC harder than WC1?

My experience with the SWC comes from the Classic Mac port, though that was many many years ago. I remember it being much harder then the SNES version (which was the only copy of WC1 I had at the time) but at least I had the Gravis Mousestick II, which helped. I don't have that luxury in...

Wcdx - Kilrathi Saga for modern Windows

Thanks Stinger! That worked perfectly for me. I don't have a multi monitor so that's ok for my purposes. If this has thoes issues though perhaps it would be better if this were an optional alternate rendering method.

Wcdx - Kilrathi Saga for modern Windows

I'm afraid for me It didn't make a difference, but as you know I'm running wine 1.7.51 on MacOSX. I think there are too many variables too pin it down on my end. For the record i have a Nvidia GT 330M.

Wcdx - Kilrathi Saga for modern Windows

One more Issue, I'm afraid WC2 KS saga version suffers from the same background planet/interstellar object not showing up that WC1 KS did.
