WC4 GOG No Music During Missions

Just finished the game in Ace difficulty (yeah, I'm a newb, I did it in rookie back in the day), pretty enjoyable though the GOG version still has the cinematic at very low volume, compatibility or not.

WC4 GOG No Music During Missions

I had the same issue and setting compatibility to W95 did work for me.

European WC Classics on Display (June 27, 2022)

Dang, the memories, I have somewhere that CD version of Wing Commander II.

    Defiance's Eyecandy Thread

Err... how to say... I went the usual way in which I do stuff with 3D editing software, AKA in a blunt and unrefined fashion (I've got very limited skills for this): Clicked on the "Cube" button, resized it a bit to be small-ish, duplicated it and positioned it in the problematic area and...

    WC3 on Crazy

Necro'ing a bit this thread, but this was the most adapted I could find. I've just done a run of WC III yesterday and today, the first time in years if not a decade. Back then, I was pretty bad overall and cared more about the plot than the gameplay, but here I played in Ace difficulty (yes, I...

    Defiance's Eyecandy Thread

Thanks! The only real change was for the Lance, as the way the wings are shaped caused them to collapse under their own weight during construction as the automatically-generated support didn't follow the angled edge, so I added a small base and it worked well. Bit of advice if anyone wants to...

    Defiance's Eyecandy Thread

Since I feel the need to print all the coolest models from the community, here's how DI's Banshee and Lance look like, with minimal work done to make them printer-compatible. Thanks again, mate, for all the help you offered during these years working together!

    WC3 Uniforms

Found a picture of the Victory's flight wing on shore leave, with colonel nar Hhallas standing among his crewmates, for future reference:

    New 3D Thread

Still some issues getting the Rapier to work in the slicer, but in the meantime, here's a print of Klavs' gorgeous Morningstar (although nowhere even close from LYP's print of it), with a Switch for scale:

    New 3D Thread

No problem! ^_^; It's also pretty interesting to learn myself what works and what doesn't.

    New 3D Thread

Yep, I had some issues as well with the Excalibur, which I corrected both with a dedicated software and by going in the mesh (for example removing a couple of internal faces in the mesh that led to external faces not being used by the splicer). Here, the issue seems to be on a sub-mesh level...

    New 3D Thread

No prob! I've started tinkering with one of the models, though, as the slicer seems to miss some of the submeshes when imported: If I had to hazard a guess, I'd suppose the normals are flipped on some of them.

    New 3D Thread

Bought it right now, I'll see to print one of them this week, so is there any you'd like to see in 20 cm long format à la Excalibur?

Ship Length Comparison (April 5, 2022)

Reminds me of an amusing take on the size of supermassive Imperial ships in Star Wars.

    New 3D Thread

And after 19 hours, here's the 20 centimetres long version. Really, really happy with it even though painting it will be a much more complex endeavour. Thanks so much, Klavs, for this superb model of yours!

    New 3D Thread

Second run finished, this time with one of Klavs' Rapier. I've printed it vertically and it is simply gorgeous! I've started printing a real-life plane now, with quite larger dimensions, but once I'm confident with it, I'll go for a large Excalibur since it's my favourite sci-fi fighter.

    New 3D Thread

Thanks! Definitely a first attempt to understand the specifics of 3D printing. I've shown it to my 91-yo grandfather, who's the family specialist in CAD and 3D design (he'll be the main user of the printer) and we've agreed that the next move should be to print a slightly larger test version...

    New 3D Thread

We got our first 3D printer at our family workshop, and after calibrating it with a provided file, my first move was to test it with a more... complex shape, AKA Klavs' very own Excalibur. 6 centimetres long for a first run to see how well it'd work and what additional actions I'd have to take...

    WC4 Remake

I definitely understand the technical requirements for the project, and if there's an origin to the "issue", it lies definitely with the original game and the design choices. I was mostly surprised a bit by the video, but after looking more closely, it makes sense. Plus, it shows that the...
