Upload of Thomas Bruckners WC Page

That's not good...:( Archive.org has a backup of the web pages themselves (and some of the images), but it doesn't have a backup of any of the tools available from his website. Fortunately, I still have some of the tools that were available off of the website, and I've uploaded them to my own...

Realistic wishlist of features for a new WC game

Here's some of the features I'd like to see in a new WC game: - 3D cockpits in the style of WC1/WC2 with real Render-to-texture MFDs. - Modding capabilities, like a mission/intermission sequence/campaign builder, ability to add new ships, weapons, characters, etc. - More event-related inflight...

    WC1 Ralari WIP

Real Life™ has been keeping me very busy lately. I haven't had much time or motivation to work on this (or anything else). Sorry about that. :(

    WC1 Ralari WIP

Interesting theories about the Ralari. I never would have thought it was originally intended to be a fighter, though. It looks more like a corvette or a destroyer to me. Anyway, update time: The model currently has 5772 polygons. I'm planning on adding Dralthi-like details to the wings...

    WC1 Ralari WIP

I'm making a new High-detail Ralari model for Woolie Wool's Wing Commander: Advance Guard mod for Saga. I'd like to try and improve my 3D modelling skills, so I thought I'd post it here for feedback. The model itself is largely based on the game sprites (like the Rapier II in Hostile...

Happy Birthday from Kevin Caccomo (August 11, 2011)

I made a small mistake regarding the terms of usage for the models when I typed this up. Sorry... If I understand Standoff's model usage terms correctly, you'll have to get permission from Eder Vieito first before you use any of his models in another fan project, but feel free to use the new...

Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier (Landreich campaign previews)

Although they could be better, I tried my best to make the cockpits in WCHF not too distracting to the pilot. When I'm in a dogfight, I'm more concerned about where I'm aiming. BTW, I released all of my exclusive WCHF assets on the CIC's birthday. In case you missed it, here's the release thread.

Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier (Landreich campaign previews)

I've added a new entry to the developer diaries section of the website. This entry tells about the process of designing and perfecting missions.

Here's a better rendering of that SVG.

Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier (Landreich campaign previews)

Sorry about neglecting this thread. Anyway, here are some new screenshots from the last two months, and also some flight recorder footage. :) Finally, ship nameplates are working properly! Some people at HLP have been working on new shaders for FS2_Open, and these new ones alleviate the...

Where should we discuss the WCPedia?

Hey, guys. I've been gathering information from False Colors for some time now, and I've decided to release the information I have in the WC: Hostile Frontier internal forum so that people working on the WCPedia could make use of it. http://www.ciinet.org/kevin/wchf/FCinfo.html I'm...

Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier (Landreich campaign previews)

A progress page has been added to the WCHF website. I'm still updating the website every once in a while, and I'm planning to finish writing up a texturing tutorial and make it available on the website soon. Also:

Can Someone Help with Game Chronology?

I thought the False Colors novel was set in the time period between WC3 and WC4. Admiral Tolwyn was in False Colors, but he was dead by the end of WC4.

    Converter

I re-uploaded the standalone release, but I'm not sure if that's the latest version that was released on the CIC's Birthday or not. eddieb also posted this in another thread: http://flightcommander.solsector.net/wc1remake_2007Release.zip Most of the WC1 Remake models are from the X-Wing...

    WC1 3D Models

I was going to send you a PM with the Raptor and Scimitar that I use for WCHF, but for some reason, I couldn't reply to your message.

Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier (Landreich campaign previews)

The new website for Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier is now open, and a new entry in my Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier Developer Diaries has been posted on the Dev Diaries page. Check out the new website here, and feel free to leave feedback, as it's always inspiring to hear more.

Wing Commander: Hostile Frontier (Landreich campaign previews)

Sorry for not keeping this thread up-to-date, but I've posted another Developer Diary entry on HLP, showing off improved textures for the WCHF fighters (including green versions), and a re-turreted Exeter. Read it here (Note: A recent update to the HLP forums broke post anchors on Firefox...

    Wing Blender (WCP/SO Blender plugin)

Thanks a lot, gr1mre4per! I'll try to implement this and release a new version ASAP. The unknown2 value, AFAIK, is a true/false flag that tells the engine whether to make the face fully lit or to give the face regular shading. See Eder's post here for more info. EDIT: OBJ2WCP 1.2 Released!

hello, is there a multiplayer wing commander?

Here's a perspective Piracy is wrong, mostly because it is SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK that you are stealing and giving away. By doing this, you're not giving anything back to the developers or publishers when you download a pirated version of a game. And when you download from someone that...

    Wing Blender (WCP/SO Blender plugin)

Update 23/12/2010 I'm trying a bunch of different algorithms to calculate the unknown1 value. Let's see if this one doesn't totally eliminate the disappearing faces problem. http://www.ciinet.org/kevin/java/obj2wcp.zip
