That's very interesting. That means that something is stalling the game every once in a while, and Windows is reacting to the stall by releasing the cursor so that you can interact with the rest of the system. You should be able to work around the issue by going in and out of full screen mode...

Now that you mention it, I vaguely recall that that was a game mechanic in WC2. I'd completely forgotten about that one. (I used to play exclusively with the keyboard way back when these games first came out.)

Have you considered using wcdx for this? I noticed that WC1 in the livestream was using the wrong aspect ratio; I really wish GOG would configure this correctly by default...

Maybe you can still use the GOG Windows version; @wcnut uses WINE to play wcdx, so maybe WC4 will also work (and you'll get the DVD movies).
