Hi ! WCP was designed as a 4:3 game; back then widescreen monitors were oddities, not the norm. There is no way to have it run in widescreen. We did make our mod Standoff support widescreen to some extent, but it required lots of tweeking of the game assets.

Upgraded movies only exists for WC4 and WCP... that might be your problem ? ;)

Glad you got the game working ! :) HDR might not work with older video cards (and some Intel on-board video). You may also check that you have the lastest drivers installed for your video card and then try again.

I am just slighlty depressed that SC got 40 Millions of crowdfundind while Georges Oldziey's WC music kickstarter is about to fail getting 35 thousand dollars. That's pocket change compared to Star Citizen ! If every citizen pledged 4 cents Georges's campaign would make it. 4 cents ! Or...

Other things to check out for: Make sure the game is NOT installed in C:\Program Files; instead install it in a separate folder structure like "C:\Games\GoG Games" or something like that. Windows UAC will mess up with the game if you don't. What is your video card ? You should try out...

Is the game giving you a specific error message, or just generic-crashing ? Also, if you previously had Secret Ops installed and then installed GoG's Secret Ops to a different folder, be aware that only that new install will work. GoG's install will have altered the registry keys pointing to...

The updates need to be applied in a specific order and depends on the installed version. I suggest you keep downloading them from the CIC since it's not going to disapear anytime soon, but if you really, really want them PM me and I'll send them to you.

Well, if you're really, really patient, I still intend to make a full install in the near future. I just need to remake a sim mission completely first :p

It is you who has been patient, but I'm happy you got it working :) BTW you need to download the Microsoft DLL only if the launcher complains about it being missing.

Please do try again and send me screenshots/more info. I just tested a complete reinstall on a fresh Windows 8.1 install and it did work. The only hiccup being WCUE's installer insisting the dlls could not be copied while... they were. I just clicked "Ignore" repeatedly to get through it...

You didn't quite follow them: I didn't write you'd have to remove the compatibility setting for Secret Ops did I ? ;) The thing is, HCl's Enhancement Pack "fixes" Prophecy.exe so it doesn't require the Win98 compatibility flag anymore... but the Enhancement Pack only patched Prophecy, not...
