I think a bad ram stick is a bit of leap. I know enough about PCs to pretty much rule that out. I was already running as administrator. Thanks for the help, dude. But I think I've given up.

I'm running the Gog version on Windows 11 here and game is crashing. Any fix?

I'm using the GoG version and I've already patched the game with the links you've provided. I managed to get the sound to work with running in Windows 7 compatibility mode, but the crashing is back. Using Windows 11 if that has any impact. I'm probably just going to give up at this point...

I've managed to stop the crashing with setting the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3, but no there's no sound, only music.

Hi, Getting crashes with the error message: "The instruction at 0044e4ab referenced memory at 00dd933e The memory could not be read from Click on OK to terminate the application" Any workaround for this? Thanks

I've had similar problems, and have the same version of windows. When I change the target to the one suggested, I can get the configuration panel up, but then I get the error that rundll32 has stopped working.

Okay, so I've managed to get past this by mounting the 2nd dvd, but now when I try to talk to any crew members it tells me the vob file is missing :S

I've had no problem running the game with the associated patches etc, but I get to a certain point in the game and it asks me to turn over the dvd, and I cannot get beyond this as I'm running the game from an .iso. Is there anyway around this?
