You can't :( I have asked GOG repeatedly to provide the modified sources of my patches. Although the response from last year was that they are working on it, nothing happened. I have again sent them a reminder just last month but I have not received any response.

Will GOG patches be made available? I'm interested to see what has been done...particularly since some of us already own both the CD and the DVD version and have made the original DVD patch *hint* *hint* ;)

Does it use my patch or some other way to get the DVD movies working? :)

VLC uses internal filters and MPC-HC as well...with dxmci a registered directshow filter is required.

MS really screwed this one up :) The link works if started from a 32-bit application (say a file manager like Total Commander), but fails if started from explorer or the desktop. I really think this runtime changing of system32 is a bad idea...and there seems to be no variable that would hold...

The problem is, as I already told Darkon, the latest v1.5 download no longer includes the modified mpeg2.dll. Without the modified dll, wc4 won't load dxmci. Even the original distribution of the modified file is somewhat shady, but I certainly cannot include it in the GPL package. The best way...

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but it seemed best to post here. I've released one final version of DXMCI and the sources under GNU GPL. The latest version adds support for Starfleet Academy DVD (maybe not so interesting on this board :D) and an option in the configuration for forcing...

Heey...I'm nominated :D I have decided some time ago that due to serious lack of time to maintain dxmci patch, I'm gonna release the sources under GNU GPL. This way, somebody else can pick it up if changes are required. I just need to find the time to modify the sources and add license info...

Windows does not provide mpeg2 or ac3 decoders! You have to install them separately. On a clean system, you have to install at least mpeg2dec and ac3dec to get the game working (see links on my page). It's that simple - no codecs, no sound or video :) (use w2k rather then win98)

I think this has been mentioned already...sometimes the dialog options just don't appear, but you can still hear them if you press up or down. If that doesn't work, pressing ESC should always skip to the end of the clip.

AD: DirectShow filters are selected based on their merit. Filters with higher merit are tried first. I found a nice little tool that allows you to change the merit :) http://www.si-gamer.net/gulikoza/bin/rlfm_bin1_4.zip Now, if you install mpeg2dec and set it a high merit it should always...

This is InterVideo mpeg2 filter...it's strange, I haven't noticed problems with WinDVDs filters so far :rolleyes:
